This school looks different when they look at the school site. But this school changes when its night time. This schools changes on the weekends. This school changes on holidays. My brother was feeling angry after an altercation with a friend about whose football team was better. After that he no longer wanted to play football so he wanted to play basketball now. He went to a bar to relieve stress and got some advice from an interesting person.

Brother: whats up man what you up to/
Bob Marley: jah rastafari, nothing man just cooling, why so angry?
Brother: ohh snap aren’t you bob Marley on of the greatest reggae singers of all time?
Bob Marley: Yea man, don’t say it so loud I don’t want any attention brought here to us!
What wrong man you look angry? You want to take a hit of this blunt and talk about it man?
Brother: nah I’m good I get tested by my football coaches! But yea I just got in an argument with one of my friends about football! It really got my angry and now I’m thinking of quitting and playing another sport. You got any advice?
Bob Marley: Jah, see man you have to look at it from a different perspective, man. You got listen to some of my cool music and think about you decisions. You see man I don’t know what the hell football is. I’m from the island of Jamaica and we don’t play football but what we do play a lot is reggae music when we get angry. We also smoke a lot of ganja man you feel what I’m sayin man.
Brother: nah man I feel you on listening to the music but not smoking the weed. Sometimes I get angry like this and I like to listen to RnB.
Bob Marley: What the hell man. You have to listen to reggae man to relax. Even smoke a blunt.

Bob Marley: nah man im to high man! Hahah do you see that in the air man/
Brother: no what are you talking bout bruh?
Bob Marley(points): there man it flying around the bar man. You cant see it? It looks like a unicorn man.
Brother: wait what? You trippin bruh! What are you smoking on man cause you seeing shit right now.
Bob Marley: jah, you right man, I don’t know what going on man, Jah bless,
Bob Marley: you heard of the Rastafarian movement man, where we praise Haile Selassie, and smoke a lot of weed man?
Brother: Nah I haven’t heard of it man! What does that have to do with what im walking about bruh.
Bob Marley: Nothing man just wanted to see if you wanted to be a part of our movement man.
Brother: No man you were supposed to be giving me advice on whether or not I should quit football and play basketball instead!!
Bob Marley: ohh man I’m sorry man I don’t know want you want man but my best advice man is to lay back play some reggae and smoke a blunt man! Jah Rastafarai

A term that I have chosen from the reading that really relates or explains my example on the group blog is voice. Voice plays a big part in my example that i posted because that is how the DJ is getting the crowd into the concert. This also allows the crowd to participate in the concert. The voice is also authenticating the undefined sound that the audience is hearing. The voice is also playing a role in building the emotions within the audience. The aspect of voice is also tying back into the participatory culture. Another obvious term that the video shows is remix or mash-up. It is an obvious term because the DJ is just playing a bunch of random songs that he produced or that someone else produced.
For this post i will discuss how Kendrick Lamar used “composing for strategic recomposition” and “rhetorical velocity” in his verse for the song “control” by Big Sean. In his verse he goes on to diss a number of different rap artist in the game. I believe that he did because he was anticipating that rappers will hear his verse and remix the song. The rap game was bought back to life after this song dropped because artist started to come out of nowhere and began making remixes of this song. His verse seemed based on rhetorical velocity. It seemed as if he anticipated how far this will travel in the digital world, how fast someone will remix and re-post this song online, how fast it will travel away from its origins, and how it will be spread online.
For the purpose of this exercise I will discuss how to make a music video using my understanding of the reading that was assigned. I will use different social activities, composing practices, and creative expression to help illustrate what I have learned. There are many benefits for artist when it comes to a music video. Music videos help the artist exposure level as well as their experiences. Making a music video also allows artist or bands to show or express their creative side. Music videos cost a fortune when it comes to who you want to produce your video. The good thing is that you can easily produce your own music videos that won’t cost you a fortune. There are also a number of sites to where people can easily post their music videos and receive feedback on whether or not it is a good video. Some examples of sites are YouTube, MySpace, or WordStar. There are also a number of different sites that I did not mention.
The first step of making a good music video is simple, choose a good song. Choosing a good song is key because you want people to actually like the song that is playing while they watch. Even though this sounds simple it actually isn’t. There are some things that you might what to factor into your decision process when attempting to choose your song. One factor is how long the song is. This is important because it is a process when it comes to making a music video and it might take too long if your song is really long. Also you might want to consider when the song came out because a lot of times the music video doesn’t come out when the song does it usually comes out at a later time and by then the song might not be as popular.
The next step is to form a production team. When you do this step you want to include a camera person or more if needed, a lighting person, and a director. All these are key when forming a production team of your own if you are not going to use a production company. You might want to have a team that has their own equipment for money purposes. You will then need to plan the shoot with your team. You want to include things such as when you want to shoot it, where, and who you want in the video. Make a list of crew member’s performers and pros that you will need. Also start to imagine you want your video to look. Take things that are popular in today’s media in consideration because you want to get people’s attention when they are watching the video. Also look at what kind of audience you are trying to draw in with your music video. Ask yourself if you want this to draw in a younger audience or and older one.
Next is to actually begin filming the video. This might take some time because you might have to reshoot certain scenes of the video and also go to different locations if you are going to use different areas. After shooting you want to edit the video. Play with the video and be creative with it. Sometimes people reshoot similar videos and those videos are boring because you see them all the time. You want to show some creativity and create something new that one day somebody else might want to recreate it. The last thing is to upload your video to a number of different sites so people can view them. You might want to post your video on Facebook and ask friends to share it so it can go viral. If you make a really good video then people are going to start to recreate your video by making covers or by making short memes. Remember to be creative.
